I like Asian food, so after reading Kelvin Pang's email from this Expat List, I went to his Buddies Cafe. It's a sport bar & Asian food cafe on Tverskaya, near Tverskaya/Pushkinskaya metro ( buddiescafe.ru). The interior is clean, stylish, and very new-feeling. Sports jerseys on the wall let you know that the TV's won't be playing telenovelas or game shows.
Kelvin happened to be at the bar and introduced himself. He recommended the Beef Curry and I took him up on it. It was one of the best dishes I've have in Moscow. It was simply and obviously made from fresh, top-quality ingredients. The meat was tender, the curry was lively, all sitting on fluffy jasmine rice, everything in balance. I don't remember the price, but it was around 700-900 ru. If you're fiending for some good food that isn't overcooked or bland, I recommend Buddies Cafe. It has a great atmosphere for a drink and conversation as well.
