> I am used to do my every day shopping in a BILLA supermarket around the
corner .......and know what? Since almost 2 month a lot of products have
vanished! I am talking i.e. about "standards" like coca cola, fanta,
sprite,
lipton icetea, nestea, bonaqua. It is no joke! All of these have
disappeared, the shelfs are now full with "russian products"
Yes, I have noticed this, too. You can't imagine how many shops I went to
before finding lasagna noodles (yeah, yeah, I know; life is really tough --
I'm making fun of myself:) My guess is that because the ruble has fallen,
stores are cutting back on imports -- logically the ones that are not part
of Russian cuisine. And then, rumor has it, the combination of changes in
the visa regulations and economic woes have sent a lot of expats packing.
