Very good point, Alex. To date, they have already enjoyed a good viral effect, and it didn't cost them a lot of money. And, as the thread below is proving, "the legend goes on" :-)

Our show takes a critical and sometimes irreverent look at world coverage and media trends. This week we are preparing a light hearted report on the new social networking site in Russia called “SNOB”. One of our producers - Simon Ostrovsky - has just got back from Russia. His report looks at the new super rich online community there. To qualify for this privileged online society - you would need to be approved by other members of the group that include Russia’s rich and famous like the richest man in Russia - oligarch Mikhail Prochorov. As part of the report Simon tried to join this club but unsurprisingly – to no avail. We are doing a fun piece on it and are looking for people to “apply” to the group. I thought that there might be a nnumber of members within your organisation who would love to poke fun at “SNOB”. In roughly 30 – 40 seconds we want members from your organisation to tell us why they think that they should be a members of this group. Obviously this is a “tongue and cheek” application. We would like to know what it takes to qualify as Russia's elite and what they would bring to the table if they were a Russian billionaire. The fastest way for us to receive these contributions would be via the net. To do this you would need to own or have access to webcam or camcorder. Simply record your response (please frame your head and shoulders in the shot and talk directly to the camera) and save it to a .mov or .wmv file. Then upload the file to www.yousendit.com and make the recipient address [email protected]. This report will air this week so I would need these contributions with me as soon as possible. I know that this is extremely late notice however we are a weekly show so we get very little notice ourselves. Please forward this email onto whoever you feel would like to participate in the show and urge them to get their video to us ASAP> I hope to hear from you soon.
