I usually just book a hostel for 1 night and have them register the visa. By far the cheapest and easiest solution in my opinion. Only costs 35 euro or so total (excluding the invitation + consulate fee). Personally I went with Hostel Napoleon last time I visited Russia. Very helpful + their staff speaks English.
I'd definitely recommend them if you're looking for a cheap solution to getting a tourist visa registered.
