Hi,

I'm currently on a job hunt, and I've decided to try to improve my chances of
finding something by posting a query to this list. So let me toot my horn a
little bit, if you please.

I am a native (U.S.) English writer/editor/translator (French, German, Russian
to English) based in Berlin, and I am interested in offers of full-time,
part-time or freelance/remote work virtually anywhere in Europe. I am primarily
interested in employment in EU countries, but will consider non-EU European
countries and even returning to Russia if the offer includes a hassle-free visa
and registration situation.

My multilingual background would be an asset to internationally-orientated
organizations. I was born in Russia but was raised in the U.S. from the age of
four and I am a U.S. citizen. In addition to native English, I retained Russian
through private study, and having lived in Russia for ten years, I am of native
level in Russian. I am also fluent in French. My German is of an upper
intermediate level, and has been improving by leaps and bounds since I moved
from Moscow to Berlin in July 26, 2008.

I also have considerable writing and editing experience with media in the U.S.,
U.K. and Russia and have more than three years of editing experience in a
business-orientated news agency.

At present, I am working full-time in Berlin for the public relations firm Hill
& Knowlton Communications GmbH (www.hillandknowlton.de) as an Account Manager
on the Nord Stream project (www.nord-stream.com). I edit the project's
English-language publications and translate texts from German to English. My
current contract expires on July 31, 2009 and will not be renewed because of
budget cuts. Hill & Knowlton can only offer me freelance work after July 31, so
it would be best if I found a new full-time situation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to getting some
leads.

Best,
Kirill Galetski.
