There is a very good shop with lots of technical toys and games (telescopes, constructor sets, hobby items), on the Garden Ring between Kurskaya and Krasy Vorota, at the intersection of Pokrovka and the Garden Ring. It should have a gyroscope. Its on the inside of the Garden Ring across from an Azbuka Vkusa.
Also, there is another shop with creative games and toys - Malenki Geniy (Little Genius) near Pushkinskaya (Bol Kozikhinsky per 6). Try there.
