Charles, I happen to be in Kyiv waiting for a visa right now. I was in Lithuania yesterday, where they refused to do the visa in 3 days (even though they told me they would multiple times by phone) and added on a long list of things that weren't on the website to include in an application if I indeed wanted to hand it in. So I flew to Kyiv, where I handed in my docs this morning. It turns out that there is virtually no hope for getting a visa quickly (even here) unless you have a telex sent--NOT a paper invitation, regardless of the type. So do a telex and you should be able to get it in 24hrs. Allison
