>Does anyone have an idea of whether wrapped presents can make it through
customs when mailed to Russia?

We've been here 5yrs now and had wrapped presents opened twice - the other
3yrs were ok. We were outside Moscow Region before (Ivanovo) - last year's
package to Moscow went through fine. Parents always marked the box with all
the contents listed (and wrote 'gifts' on there).

Obviously I wouldn't get get to send anything too valuable or cash. Mostly
just been food items we miss from the UK. Like Christmas puddings - as the
last poster was after. The cheapest way is definitely getting a friend to
package some up for you!
