We are delighted to announce to you that on January 27th 2010 we’ll open our free lectures "Explore Russia", in Moscow State University of Railway Engineering, on Obrazcova 15, at 11-00. The theme of the first lecture is Russia and the former USSR Introduction: * General features (huge dimensions, 11 time zones, diversity of nature and cultures of resident peoples, 59 properties included in UNESCO World Heritage List) * Cultural sightseeing: history, architecture, fine arts, handycrafts, ethnography * Nature sightseeing: All zones except the tropics (tundra, taiga, steppes, deserts, subtropics, alpine meadows, snowcapped peaks and glaciers).
