Hi: Actually; The Magnetic Activity is a very real thing in Moscow (does not
compare with the sitting on cold surfaces, that would only bother you over an
extended time period - like Hypothemia). The draft could get you (Stiff Neck or
Cold), but the Cold Drink would not (Russians don't usually have ice in their
drinks anyway).

You, yourself might not feel anything, I take Vitamins, extra B12, Calcium, and
lots of Vit C plus some Iron supplements, so my body systems would maybe be
affected more than yours. Everyone is a little different.

Moscow has many very large IRON deposits around the city; these deposits tend
to increase any solar type influence. You can do a simple test. During the
Next Magnetic Storm get yourself some very fine iron filings, then put them
into the white cover of a shoe/boot box - during the storm, they will line up
with the flux lines in the city.

I've read some research on this sent from someone else on the list. Thanks! I'm
just curious where legend mixes with medical fact.

In Russia I've heard the same about sitting on a cold surface (bench, steps,
etc.) causing sterility. Also, that a cold drink or slight draft will bring you
to the brink of death. South Koreans have a similar fear of drafts/fans:

Over the years I've heard from Russian colleagues/friends that they
occasionally get headaches from magnetic storms (magnitniy buryi) yet I can't
find much about it online... Does anyone here know about this?
