Hi Art,

This is the case with me, I have TRP for 3 years and I rent an apartment, my
landlord has registered the contract and then arranged the address
registration. What you need for the contract registration (if you speak Russian
it would help with the names of the documents, so I will write in English and
Russian):

1. Property ownership document (original one) / Dokument na sobstvennost jilya
(original)
2. Copy of the property ownership document / Kopie dokumenta na sobstvennost
jilya
3. House register statement on 2 pages from Housing and Utilities Department
/ Vypiska iz domovoi knigi - 2 stranitzy, poluchaetsya v JKH
(jilishno-kommunalnoe hozyaistvo)
4. Copy of the passport of the landlord / Kopie pasporta sobstvennika jilya
5. Copy of your passport (translated and legalized) / Kopie pasporta gosta

You can call at the Moscow Rent Apartment Center (GUP Moskovsky Gorodskoi
Tzentr Arendnogo Jilya) and make an appointment for the legalization and
registration of your contract. Address: Bolnichny pereulok 7 (near metro
station Prospekt Mira), Tel. (495) 681-7088, 681-7124
http://www.mgcaz.ru/
It will save you enough time althoug, when I was there, there were few people!

You can legalize your contract with the landlord directly at GUP, it will be
much cheaper, besides, there are almost no queues there! The costs: ca. 1600
RUB which includes the registration fee of the contract of 382 RUB.
If you choose to  legalize your contract with an external notary, you my pay
5000 RUR and, nevertheless, should go again tp GUP and register the contract
for 382 RUR.

Yes, the landlord should come with you as s/he has to sign some papers.

Hopefully, this information helps.

Good luck!

Regards, Natalia

Dear expats

Has anyone recently received a Temporary Residence Permit (for 3 years ) and
rents their apartment. If so can you describe the procedures that you had to go
through to register in your apartment is did your landlord have to go to the
regisitration office with you, what documents were required etc.

Thanks in advance
