According to a friend of mine, who's a professional driver: the average rate (from 9-5) it's about 5,000rubles, which seems quite fair to me, on the face of it.
However, that's if you are using their car, to the best of my knowledge. As to deter them from using your car for doing any other pick-up's with it, in their downtime??? I would suggest having a GPS security tracking system fitted and activated - directly to your car's anti-theft /security company's account and pre-warn any candidate for the job that this a no go area for him/her and that the car's movements can and will be electronially logged and randomely accessed and viewed by you. Not sure what the fee's are for such services, but I do know they exist here. I think a company called Alligator is one company specialising in this field. I do, however, know for a fact that they can even send a signal - remotely immobilising the car, on your instructions. I also believe, according to my friend, that the average monthly salary, for a professionally qualified full-time driver is about 65-70,000rubles per month. Again, this seems entirely reasonable to me; for the hiring of the services of an experienced person - with a pleasant manner, well-dressed, a good knowledge of Moscow and the surrounding area and a 100% competent driver. Hope this helps and good luck. Before we decide to go down this route or not, I thought I'd ask around on the list to find out what the going salary is & what can be expected. We own our own car, so really I am just interested in: a) how much is market salary b) how many hours a day/week that includes c) how do you keep your driver from picking up strangers in his downtime d) etc thanks in advance, John _______________________________________________ Expat mailing list [email protected] http://www.lists.ru/mailman/listinfo/expat http://www.expat.ru/forum/
