I promise not to digress in the future, but... Al Jazeera legitimize, by pretending to discuss, the murder of children, women and elderly based on their potluck in belonging to a disfavored (by Al Jazeera's lunatic sponsors) religious groups.
I personally don't believe that the rationale for murder of random Jews, Christians and Hindus needs airing whether that airing is done on a nice stage by a person with a loverly upper-caste British accent or not. I can certainly sympathize with a BBC veteran reduced to moral and economic penury forcing him to sell himself to a group as incredibly odious as this. But, like many unpleasant things, don't want to see for myself. My favorite was a discussion on Al Jazeera of whether it was OK to indocrinate Kindergarten age children in Gaza as to benefits of martyrdom. Incidentally, that is also available on YouTube. Stiff competition to having the good folks representing the "conservative" Islamist position explaining which non-believers should be murdered, which should leave and which may just convert. Practical and enlightening information. You know, just in case. As is Al Jazeera airing the claim that a certain bouffant haired politician in the Netherlands (Geert Wilders) is, quote "the greatest hatemonger of all time". Not the guy who stabbed Theo van Gogh to death on an Amsterdam street, not the folks who murder and advocate the murder of people (also no Al Jazeera) for making/printing cartoons they don't like, not the practitioners of female ritual circumcision, not folks who deny education to millions of women... but... Geert Wilders. Historically, any organization with money, no matter how odious, including the Nazis found some expat to shill for them for money. William Joyce, as an easy example. It may be an interesting comment on folks who will go that far for rather modest remuneration, maybe the BBC veteran at Al Jazeera needs the health benefits?, but not at all interesting as to the purveyors of this poison. If y'all have the time, I find, FITNA is a good flick to watch. Not likely to see that one on Al Jazeera though. Nick, is the jury still out for you whether gays should be judicially murdered by Islamist states, do you need more information on this complex topic, courtesy of Al Jazeera? Not me, I am deeply, deeply opposed. Not sure whether women should have the right to education, vote, work and not wear a large burlap sack on their head? I am sure that they should have the right to work, vote, study and if they want to, wear whatever they want. Again, don't need to hear from Al Jazeera on that one. Al Jazeera and the "cultural relativism" porn that it represents is an intellectual and moral dead-end. Wrong is wrong. As to the BBC veterans, well... it's not my place to dwell on their pesonal shame. To borrow a line from TV, a lie is a lie, it's not a point of view.
