Michael, I don't remember that there is a limit to take out(exporting on your person) from Russia. I remember a Moscow Times or Moscow News story of an NGO Director who was stopped by Russian Airport Customs Officials because she was bring in (importing on her person) near the limit (I can't remember the amount) allowed in cash to be couriered into Russia.. I will look-for the article.
One thing. Do not take-out Russian collectible coins or paper money without proper documentation.
