The times they close it off could vary dramatically, but usually by
mid-afternoon it is open. Even if the street is closed most of the
buildings on that street have service entrances in the back that you can
scope out in advance, and they are usually manned during the parades for
residents to get in. It might take going into some gross basement doors and
up scary fire escape stairs, but it will get you in. If there is no
service entrance, then if you have proof that you live on the
street-registration there--you will usually be let through the barricades
and can get friends through with you.

Dear expatniki,

would anybody know the conditions for visiting a flat on Tverskaya fo the
May 9 parade?

Friends of ours who just moved there but speak no Russian are wondering
until which time they can let guests into their place.

Thanks for any leads/experiences,

Nikolaus
