Hello,

A friend of mine is looking to move over to Russia to do a business
start-up which will take the best part of a year, after which she'll be
able to get a regular working visa. She'll be shipping over quite a bit of
stuff & needs to be able to stay beyond a standard 6 months visa.

I've heard of two options to be able to have a 1yr continuous in-country
presence but would like confirmation or to hear of alternatives;

1. Buy a multi-entry business visa from an agency that assigns you to the
'foreign quota' of a obscure Russian company. The cost is Rbls80-90k, &
along with the visa you receive a card confirming who you're employed by.
You do not submit any tax returns or receive a confirmation that taxes
have been paid.
Has anyone come across a cheaper approach & can provide contact details??

2. Apply for 3 month visas as these will be issued consecutively in the
same passport. I've previously heard that 6 month visas will not be issued
consecutively in the same passport. I've also heard the system of using
two passports is not now a good idea as they can be cross referenced by
immigration.
Can anyone confirm that the 3 month approach is working & that the 6
month doesn't??

Are there any other options other than being employed by a regular
business??

Thanks in advance
John
