Ok, enough emails rants. I run an online travel agency, based in Moscow --
www.travelmenu.ru. Anyways, I would be happy to extend all subscribers to the
expat list discounts -- can range up to RUB 5,000 on certain bookings
(depending on booking value).

We currently have hotels, package tours and flights in our offering, will add
train tickets later this week and rental cars, excursions and transfers at the
end of the summer.

If you would like to get these discounts, please email me to
[email protected] and I will subscribe you to our newsletter and set you up
with discounts in our system.

So now let's stop the ranting and focus on planing wonderful summer holidays,
winter holidays or any holidays to get out of this crazy Moscow and breathe
some fresh air ;-)

Kindest,

Katrin

P.S.: I know that I am using this as shameless business promotion -- but it's
opt-in and not opt-out, so please forgive me... and we are a start-up, it's a
terribly competitive market and literally every client counts. Thank you very
much for your support.

Rebecca, how many English channels did Kosmos provide you (albeit temporarily)
with?

I have Onlime, they have a handful of English channels (about 15), some on HD,
my wife enjoys the rest, their price is good and their broadband is amazing, in
quality and speed.
Seriously recommend them.
oh! and you can pay over the net.

Subject: Expat List Substitute for Kosmos--or another Rant to replace the
Liga Rant

Hi Guys, Right after the May holidays our Kosmos cable went out and after they
came to repair it we were told it “was a global problem” which apparently means
some rival company blocking the signal coming to our building, and that they
would get back to us in a week or two with a fix. Of course, I have never once
actually had people from Kosmos get back to us when promised without my calling
to remind them, so I kept calling them every couple of weeks for the promised
“fix” and kept getting told it would be another week or two. This last week
when I called there was finally progress of a sort: I was told that they were
NEVER going to fix it. (In the mean time they haven’t offered us a refund for
two months of prepaid service—but that’s a potential rant for another day
because I’ll try collecting back first.).

Putting aside the snide remarks I have in my head about Kosmos generally, can
anyone recommend an alternative cable system with English language programming,
or another method for getting English programs besides setting up my laptop on
the living room table and pretending it’s a TV set.

Thanks
Marian
