Hi all!
I installed Mandrake 6 for a few days ago. Before I ran Redhat 6. Everthing
works fine, but I am a little confused over the location of the file that
contains the pid of pppd. The ifdown script (that I´m used to use for
terminating a ppp conection) expects that the pid of pppd is located in
the /var/run directory. According to the pppd manual it should be in Linux. But
the pid file is located in /etc/ppp. I'm just wondering if it is a bug, or an
intention with this placement. The easiest way to solve the problem is to make
a link or copy of the pid file to /var/run, but I did recompile the
ppp-2.3.7-3mdk.src.rpm whith the right(?) path. I did also upload these rpms to
the incoming directory of ftp.linux-mandrake.com.

Best, Nikodemus Karlsson
