Not sure if this will fix it, but try the rrlogind package:
http://phoenix.vortech.net/rrlinux/files/rrlogind-2.21.tar.gz

It comes with a custom dhcpcd for road runner and rrlogind. I've pretty much
got the same setup as you and don't ever have any problems.
