I don't think so. IIRC, the reset button is a hardware
reset on the motherboard, shorting out a couple pins, NOT a
software-reset the way CTL+ALT+DEL is. Sorry to be the
bearer of bad news, but if Linux is FUBARed as badly as you
seem to indicate, it might be time to refresh your install
or wipe the system and reinstall from scratch.
