Which MDA are you using?
Sendmail or exim or a complete different?
The problem you have sounds like one i had a year ago.
You must tell your local MDA to rewrite your address from
[EMAIL PROTECTED] to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
For this it would be fine to know which MDA you are using.

The only reaction is my office SMTP server rejecting the message
because it looks like it is sent from [EMAIL PROTECTED],
which is (obviously) not a valid domain (localnet is my home network,
with reserved IP numbers).
