[expert] lothar problems

I'm trying to install the lothar-soundconfig-0.6.2-1mdk.i586.rpm.
When I run the rpm -ivh lothar... it fails with
error: failed dependencies
   libnewt.so.0.50 is needed by lother--sound.....

Can someone tell me how to get this lib? or better yet how to get
the soundconfig part installed??
