I have faced with problem of stability of the system when trying upgrading
RAM memory in my LINUX box. I have Intel P5/133MHz, mainboard that support
2 banks of FAST PAGE and/or EDO RAM.
Currently I am working with bank0:2x16M Fast Page and bank1:2x8MB EDO and it is
fine.
When trying to replace 2x8 EDO by 2x16EDO the system is starting ok, BOOT shows
64M,
but I discover strange bahaviour. When trying to compile something in the
system, i.e.,
when the system resources are heavily exploited then I got a PANIC message from
the kernel
showing that it is a problem with the refreshment of dynamic memory content.
Is it caused by memory hardware?
Is it possible somehow to tune kernel parameters to avoid above described
problem?
