Hello! I'm not really an expert or why would I ask these
questions...... however

I like to compile my own version of Vim - I need odd features like
right-to-left which aren't included in standard distributions. With
Mandrake 6.1 it went like a breeze.

Having just installed Mandrake 7.0 I find that it will only produce a
stunted version of the Athena Gui, although the packaged Vim 5.5 works
well with the GTK gui.

I suspect there is something awry with some of the symbolic links but
am not clever enough to work out which! Has anyone already solved this
problem?

Thanks in advance

Glyn M.
