I early on tried to upgrade a RH6.1 system with Mandrake 70 but
got alot of errors and such when trying to come back up after the install.
I had the convenience of just being able to scrap my system partition and
reformat the system partition do it as a new install.

However -- I have a server with alot of config specific
info and setup which is partially sprinkled through the system partition
that is running SUSE63. I'd like to 'upgrade' it, if possible, w/o
losing all the config information -- yeah I can save that stuff to another
disk or partition, but it's just remembering all the little config items.

Are there any Howto's or procedures, or is this just more of a
'you're on your own' type thing?

It would be probably a "sell point" if a distro could convert/upgrade
from some other distro's.

thanks,
-linda
