Thanks, but I have tried that.  On my system it seems supermount will
not allow ext2 floppies to be read, even though I have added ext2 to
/etc/filesystems.  I am going to download Tom's root boot in vfat and
revert to using supermount for convenience but acknowledging I cannot
open ext2 floppies.
