[expert] Interrupt Lost

My system running Mandrake 7.0 , init 5, hangs with the following
repetitive message :
hda: interrupt lost
hda: interrupt lost
hda: interrupt lost
hda: interrupt lost
.
.
.
.

Any ideas why this might be happening ?
