forgive the simplistic response, but if the power switch is still in the `on' position *and* there has been no damage to the filesystems when the power went out *and* your machine doesn't choke b/c it tries to boot from a floppy left in the drive... then it's fine. but a small ups might be a better way to go then allow the filesystems to get killed like that. jason.
