[expert] not able to set up udf filesystem.

has anyone successfully set up a udf filesystem in Mandrake 7.0? i have
tried but to no avail. I downloaded and untarred the udf-0.9.2.tar.gz.
and did the following.

INSTALLING:

"make udf.o"    -- ok

"make install"   --ok

"make patch"    --ok

TESTING:

"depmod -a"    --ok

"modprobe udf",

message: can't locate udf filesystem

can anybody help!!!!!!!
