Hi All, I've been trying to compile xosview, with the net-meter in also, since the bog-standard Mandrake 7.1, does not have it in..... :-( But, I keep getting this error back & do not understand it. Can anyone interpret it or suggest a work around? <snip> cd ./linux && make make[1]: Entering directory `/opt/xosview-1.7.3/linux' c++ -Wall -O4 -pipe -I/usr/X11R6/include -DXOSVIEW_VERSION=\"1.7.3\" -I/opt/xosview-1.7.3 -I/opt/xosview-1.7.3/linux -DHAVE_BOOL=1 -DLONG_LONG=long\ long -DHAVE_SNPRINTF=1 -DHAVE_XPM=1 -DGNULIBC=1 -DUSESYSCALLS=1 -DHAVE_USLEEP=1 -I.. -c serialmeter.cc -o serialmeter.o In file included from serialmeter.cc:34: /usr/include/sys/io.h: In function `void outb(unsigned char, short unsigned int)': /usr/include/sys/io.h:98: parse error before `::' /usr/include/sys/io.h: In function `void outb_p(unsigned char, short unsigned int)': /usr/include/sys/io.h:104: parse error before `::' /usr/include/sys/io.h: In function `void outw(short unsigned int, short unsigned int)': /usr/include/sys/io.h:111: parse error before `::' /usr/include/sys/io.h: In function `void outw_p(short unsigned int, short unsigned int)': /usr/include/sys/io.h:118: parse error before `::' /usr/include/sys/io.h: In function `void outl(unsigned int, short unsigned int)': /usr/include/sys/io.h:125: parse error before `::' /usr/include/sys/io.h: In function `void outl_p(unsigned int, short unsigned int)': /usr/include/sys/io.h:131: parse error before `::' make[1]: *** [serialmeter.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/opt/xosview-1.7.3/linux' make: *** [meterlib] Error 2 [root@localhost xosview-1.7.3]# <snip> *BFN* Greek Geek :-) A fanatic is a person who can't change his mind and won't change the subject. - Winston Churchill
