I would like to point everyone over to http://www.libranet.com/petition.html to sign a web petition they have going to get manufacturers of pc devices to provide specifications for their hardware to developers. I believe this is important, as one of the largest obstacles for gaining new users, from Windoze or Macintosh or any operating system, is lack of support for hardware that is propriatery in design. The pressure must be put on the manufacturers, b/c if it's not, Linux will retain its stigma of being a "geeks operating system".
