I tried that... upgraded to the latest kernel and used the latest
mandrake alsa for it... didn't try downloading them from the alsa
homepage tho. Maybe I should have.
I did get OSS to work tho... the thing that pissed me right off is
that i got the sound working and then X refused to work again... This
one is a little too much work to get things running on. The reason I
want/need it is for demonstration purposes... I don't want to go around
and tell people how many hoops I had to jump thru to get it
installed... Gonna find something that is a little easier to work with
so my demonstration can show how easy it is to install/use Linux.. (and
be honest and accurate!)
