Does someone know how to turn off those #$@* auto-menu's in Mandrake?
I am surprised nobody else ever mentions this. But whenever I install an RPM
it returns my system KDE menu to some default.

I spend lots of time arranging my menu...adding Loki Games & removing things
like kppp & kfax. A few days later I'll install some RPM....and bam! My games are
gone and kppp & kfax are back(not to mention that I even deleted the binaries).
Gnome is similar...only it doesn't delete stuff.

I downloaded Mandrake 7.1 the day it came out...perhaps they fixed this later?
It almost makes me hate Linux...but I know it's just some stupid Mandrake thing.
I would switch to my second favorite distribution, Caldera, if they supported ReiserFS.

I do know that it gets the menu from /usr/lib/menu...but I can't go around editing
a bunch of text files all the time. Currently, I make a "backup" of my menu as the
"user" menu, and copy it back whenever Mandrake trashes mine...but this doesn't
work in Gnome....and it's annoying and I shouldn't have to do that anyway.

I must admit...the one thing I miss from Windows is the easy menu(just Drag & Drop).

Please help!

Thanks!
Henry
