I don't have Mandrake right now. I do, however, have Red Hat 6.0 and am
intending to upgrade in the near future. Does anyone know:
-- If Mandrake is compatible enough with Red Hat that I can do the kind of
upgrade that keeps some configuration files.
-- If there is an upgrade option which lets me wipe out the OS while keeping
some directories such as /usr/local and my home directory. (They are not on
separate partitions. And yes, I realize this may cause some problems such as
the RPM database not knowing about any programs that are still in /usr/local).
