Finally took the step to leave 3.3.x for 4.0.x. Some questions:

1. Got HW accelaration almost working (4.1.0, Banshee). Quake3 starts
accelerated, but exits due to errors with 4.0.1, i.e. with MDK 7.2 and
libgL. Should I go for Glide, or GL?
2. Another alternative is to upgrade to cooker X4 (4.0.1e??) and use
ligGL. Is this workable, or is Glide still the solution?
3. Does Quake need to be upgraded to 1.17? 
4. Which version of UT works?
5. Anuthing else?
