Hello all, first my server platform: Mandrake7.2 I first installed dhcp-3.0b2pl9-3mdk.i586.rpm bind-8.2.2P5-12mdk.i586.rpm Clients = Linux RH6.2, Linux RH7.0, MacOS, WinNT and 98, Mandrake7.2 My problem is this: my dhcp server is setup to do auto updates in into my dns records. All clients get ip numbders from the server fine. All but Mandrake clients get added to the dns records fine. For some reason Mandrake clients do not seem to get added. I looked in my syslog and found these messsages>>> dhcpd: dns.c(424): non-null pointer Dec 20 22:26:51 mailserver dhcpd: if IN A doesn't exist add 21600 IN A 172.16.60.188: resolver failed. Dec 20 22:26:51 mailserver dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 172.16.60.188 from 00:c0:4f:33:6b:4d via eth0 Dec 20 22:26:51 mailserver dhcpd: DHCPACK on 172.16.60.188 to 00:c0:4f:33:6b:4d via eth0 Dec 20 22:26:51 mailserver dhcpd: fallback_discard: Connection refused After posting this to the isc.org maillist I was advised to upgrade to the latest dhcpd server software so I did.. I installed dhcp-3.0b2pl11-1mdk. This basically just surpressed my syslog output errors. I still cannot solve the problem.. It's most likely something I am over looking..\ Any Help would be great.
