Thanks, I'll go back and try that. I failed to mention the first time around though that I did try to run lilo using some of the command line args to point to /mnt/... but there was something else it couldn't find and I decided to join a mailing list. :) Anyone know if there is anything special added to the bootloader configs when using Reiser FS. My initial thought was the problem was related to a bug updating RFS partitions or at least booting one. -G --- Todd Flinders <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > AFTER ensuring that /boot/lilo.conf has the correct > settings, simply run /sbin/lilo > > You'd better make a boot disk first just in case > something goes wrong. > > If you want your grub back, there's an install.sh in > the grub directory. > > --- Big G <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I was using grub with 7.1. > > > > I recall lilo.conf seemed to be updated with new > and > > old kernal entries like grub. > > > > How does one switch to lilo? > > > > -G > > > > --- Joseph Red <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > What bootloader were you using previously? > Maybe > > > LILO would work better. > > > > > > Joseph Red > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: "Big G" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > Sent: Friday, February 02, 2001 10:09 AM > > > Subject: [expert] Fwd: 7.1 -> 7.2 upgrade hangs > at > > > stage 1 on reboot > > > > > > > > > > I originally posted this to newbie but I > haven't > > > > gotten any response so maybe it's for the > > > experts... > > > > > > > > Thanks, > > > > G > > > > --- Big G <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > Date: Wed, 31 Jan 2001 12:06:20 -0800 (PST) > > > > > From: Big G <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > > > Subject: 7.1 -> 7.2 upgrade hangs at stage 1 > > on > > > > > reboot > > > > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > > > > > > > Hello all, > > > > > > > > > > I had a working Mandrake 7.1 installation on > > an > > > > > older > > > > > Dell XPS200 Pentium Pro system using SCSI > > disks > > > and > > > > > ReiserFS. > > > > > > > > > > The 2 CD upgrade to 7.2 seemed to go fine > > > (although > > > > > it > > > > > took hours) then it was time to reboot.
