There
is an updated driver. I have a Toshiba laptop with a Savage
card.
Goto http://www.probo.com/timr/savage40.html
for the driver
It is
at the very bottom of the page. Xfree 4.02 does not out of
the
box
support the IX/MX chip.

Subject: [expert] Framebuffer deviceCan anyone tell me how I can set up the framebuffer device as a video device to use under linux? I have a laptop with an S3Savage/MX video card and none of the traditional drivers work (unless someone knows anything different?) I have used the framebuffer successfully before, but cannot remember the settings for doing this. Any help would be appreciated.
