I have got an ESLA Microlink 56k USB modem. When I try to set up a data
connection to this modem via Kppp, I get either an error message (either
modem busy or modem not found, depending on the device selected in the
kppp setup).

Please note that in the ACM driver section and the details for Elsa
Microlink 56K USB at
http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/
are several error similar reports for usb modems with Mandarke 8.0.

Has anyone an idea, what might be wrong?

Best regards,
Michael

PS:

My module configuration is:
