I have got an ESLA Microlink 56k USB modem. When I try to set up a data connection to this modem via Kppp, I get either an error message (either modem busy or modem not found, depending on the device selected in the kppp setup). Please note that in the ACM driver section and the details for Elsa Microlink 56K USB at http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/ are several error similar reports for usb modems with Mandarke 8.0. Has anyone an idea, what might be wrong? Best regards, Michael PS: My module configuration is: lsmod Module Size Used by es1371 27440 1 soundcore 3504 4 [es1371] ac97_codec 8688 0 [es1371] gameport 1520 0 [es1371] acm 5120 0 (unused) printer 4992 0 usb-uhci 20672 0 (unused) usbcore 47248 1 [acm printer usb-uhci] nls_iso8859-1 2848 2 (autoclean) nls_cp850 3584 2 (autoclean) vfat 9040 2 (autoclean) fat 30720 0 (autoclean) [vfat] tuner 4432 1 (autoclean) tvaudio 8160 0 (autoclean) (unused) msp3400 13808 1 (autoclean) bttv 55216 0 videodev 4512 2 [bttv] i2c-algo-bit 7072 1 [bttv] i2c-core 12592 0 [tuner tvaudio msp3400 bttv i2c-algo-bit] My file /etc/modules.conf looks like following: pre-install pcmcia_core CARDMGR_OPTS=-f /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia start alias usb-interface usb-uhci alias sound-slot-0 es1371 alias char-major-81 bttv alias tvcard0 bttv
