Hello,

We are trying to install kernel 2.4.7 on Mandrake and keep running into
problems. This is what we have done.

Configured the kernel with make menuconfig.
Configured ReiserFS, RamDisk and Dac960 support as modules.
Compiled, installed kernel.
Compiled, installed modules.
ran:

mkinitrd --with=DAC960 --with=rd --with=reiserfs /boot/initrd-2.4.7.img 2.4.7

Modified the lilo.conf

ran lilo

Abosuletly zero errors on any of this. When the machine reboots it will
start to load the kernel and then says, "Unable to mount root fs:".
I have tried this with 2.4.3, 2.4.4, 2.4.5 and 2.4.7. I know I am missing
something dumb but can not find it.

This machine is a 1gig Athlon.
The only controler is a ExtremeRaid 2000 (Dac960).

It boots fine with the 2.4.3 Mandrake kernel but their are some bugs in
that kernel causing us grief.

Any ideas?

Joshua Drake
