Hi!

I have about 10 machines running mdk 7.2 (updated from 7.1) with RPM version
3.0.5 . In one of this machines I try to install rpm 4.0 from mdk 8, but it
needs glibc 2.2.
So I update almost everything needed to install rpm (using rpm binaries from
mdk 8 cds and recompiling some src.rpm) ...
When I check that all the dependencies where ok... I proceed to rpm -Uhv
rpm...... it was ok apparently..... what I found after the install was
that rpm -qa shows that nothing is installed. :(
Looking around I found out that the rpm database change his name or something
like that........ files with names:
Packages
Providename
Requirename etc.... in /var/lib/rpm after the upgrade have size 0.

I need to update the other machines...... (to keep them in sync)....
but I want to know if there is a way to keep the database in the upgrade of
the rpm package from ver.3 to version 4.

I couldn't make a fresh install to mdk 8. (I couldn't shutdown all the
machines for an upgrade).
