How > do I correct these errors and start again if that is the appropriate step to > take? > Looks like nkfs is configured for kernel 1.3.x (-DLINUX1_3_x) but if you use a plain LM8.0 you got kernel 2.4.3 The error itself is that the header files are from kernel 2.4.3 while nkfs expects 1.3.x. You should change the configuration of nkfs to match your kernel.
