Hi Frank and all!

> anyway, what exactly is the problem when you try to boot?

The systems boots up but a lot of messages error appear.
I can run linux: / and /usr are mounted but /home and /files (where I keep
a large amount of personnal files) are not mounted. I can use linux as a
user but the user's directory is not there...

/mnt/windows/ (c:/ drive) is mounted properly but
/mnt/windows2/ (d:/ drive) is not. D:/ incidentally mysteriously stopped one
day being recognized by windows too so that I cannot access this partition
either through windows nor through linux...

After having unsuccesfully tried to solve the problem for a while, I decided
to reinstall completely in expert mode, just reformating / and /usr... but
the installer couldn't read the partition table meaning that I would have
needed to erase every thing in order to repartition the disk... No need to
tell you that I promptly quit the install program.

Thanks for replying.
:-D

I am very surprised that you received the mail in html since I am usually
careful to send plain text (the default for my mail client is plain text).
Also the original of the message below that I forwarded is also plain text.
Your reply came to me as plain text too...

Anyway, I am sorry if I mixed up something somewhere...

(I hope that this one is properly send in plain text).
