I suspect you need to run fsck.  Pretty much follow the instructions in the 
error message.

Put in the root password and then when you are logged in type "fsck <name of 
device the error message said to fsck>" and pretty much answer "y" to 
everything.

If it is not calling for an fsck, post the erro message here, and then we 
maybe can help more.
