Yes, and also the kernel-source rpm (patch level that matches your installed kernel) if you want to recompile the kernel, or anything that needs to be built against kernel source. It's also a good idea to check the cooker archive (link above) shortly after a new kernel is on the mirrors, to see what, if any issues there may be. EG, make xconfig is broken in -19mdk, fixed in 2.4.17-20mdk.
