Which distrib and which version of postfix? We just released an
update Thursday (MDKA-2002:003) which fixes broken SASL support in 8.1
and implements SASL support in 8.0 (versions of postfix).

Likewise, MDKSA-2002:018 was also released Thursday which fixes some
format string issues with cyrus-sasl so it is highly recommended that
you upgrade.
