Me and my buddy are running similar servers. I have Mandrake 8.2 and he has e-smith (www.e-smith.org). When we benchmark them using the same index.html file his server more than doubles performance using ab hammerhead siege One difference is he has a 5400 rpm drive and I have a 7200 rpm drive, when we benchmark with hdparm his server is twice as fast, this makes no sense?
