Some problems with emacs in Mandrake:
1. load-path doesn't automatically contain subdirectories of /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp. This has been default behaviour since version 20.3, so something is really broken here. How do I restore this default behaviour? 2. The colour scheme is hideous. You wouldn't believe how many users complain about this. I've added the following lines to /etc/emacs/site-start.el (set-background-color "white") (set-foreground-color "black") However the menus in X are still in the original hideous color scheme. Any idea how to the foreground/background colours for everything? cheers, Eric
