being as I am quite tired of diddling around with various flavours of 8.x, mostly to avail and despite the help of many folk on this list, I am now going to return my laptop, desktop, and home computers to 7.2
Is there anyone out there who is willing to share their own expertise (off the list) in setting up and configuring 7.2? Basic setup and running aren't a problem, but I would like to perform kernel upgrades, and implement IPtables, and set up a full SAMBA server, etc Thanks Ken. PS I wish to thank all those who answered doofus questions from me, and put up with my occasional rant; I have purchased a club membership, and I will continue to promote Mandrake, but sharing the opinion of many posters here, I feel that 8.2 is not yet ready for prime-time.
