hi, have detected a memory-problem on my mdk8.0 box. have installed for a few weeks now 256 MB RAM, upgraded from 64 MB.
Now, that I have the 256 MB RAM, the system sometimes runs out of memory. Results are : sometimes, the swap (=289 MB) couldn't be found the memory-used field shows as follows : memory total : 255,81 MB free : 6,52 MB shared memory : 0 Buffered : 35,1 MB total swap : 305 MB free swap : 305 MB after calling pptp two- or three times between a short time the swap couldn't be found, and the system takes a very long time for EVERY action, I than make. Sometimes I get a lot of kernel-messages, sometime nothing, and the system stucks. Today in the morning - I restarted the system after a crash in yesterday, but no errormessages of the crash I could find now. Before I got the adsl-box, I doesn't make experiences with ANY crash, now I have it sometimes 1 time and sometime 5 times a day. A test I made for 3 days - have deinstalled and deleted the complete pptp-adsl-fr-1.0.2-7mdk - and had NO crashes. Now, I reinstalled it, and the crashes are back. Now my questions : is this a really known behavior ? is there a bugfixed pptp rpm available ? which other possibilities I have to get rid of this weird thing ?
